Your Fort Worth Plastic Surgery Consultation
We are excited you are considering Kirby Plastic Surgery for your Fort Worth plastic surgery procedure! In order to help answer your questions and prepare you for your aesthetic plastic surgery journey, we have prepared this consultation guide.
The first step in booking your plastic surgery procedure is to chat with Jamie, our Patient Care Coordinator, about your goals. She will help guide you through your entire journey, from start to finish. Jamie will schedule you for a consultation with Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Emily J. Kirby. We recommend that you schedule an in-person consultation if you are able to, as this will allow you to see our facility and meet our staff members; however, virtual consultations are available for those who live out of town or prefer the comfort and convenience of their own home.

Meet your surgery consultation team
It takes a team to safely and consistently deliver beautiful plastic surgery results. During your initial consultation, you will have the opportunity to meet the following people:
- Your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Emily J. Kirby, MD. Dr. Kirby has over 18 years of experience performing plastic surgery. She is beloved by her patients for her warm demeanor and exceptional surgical skill.
- Your Patient Care Coordinator, Jamie. Jamie will work with you to schedule your consultation and procedure, as well as answer any questions that you may have along the way.
- Our Front Desk Concierges, Shelby and Amy. As some of the first people you will see on your plastic surgery journey at Kirby Plastic Surgery, our knowledgeable front desk concierges, Courtney and Madison, will help welcome you upon arrival for your in-office consultation and make sure you are comfortable.
Review your medical history
Dr. Kirby will discuss your medical history, including past medical and surgical history, current medications, allergies, and anything else that might relate to your desired procedure. For your convenience, you can fill out our new patient paperwork online.
Discuss your procedure and recovery
Dr. Kirby will listen to your goals and desires, and will develop a customized treatment plan specific to your aesthetic goals and unique physiology. In order to give you personalized recommendations relevant to your needs, Dr. Kirby will perform a brief physical examination of your areas of concern. All photos taken at your consultation are accessible at any time using your login to our electronic platform, TouchMD. Additional before-and-after photos, videos, and information sheets are also available on TouchMD.
During your consultation, Dr. Kirby will explain what you can expect before, during, and after your surgery, including what type of anesthesia you will have and where your surgery will be performed. She will also let you know what to expect as you heal from surgery, and provide you with a general recovery timeline.
If you are considering breast augmentation, Dr. Kirby’s team will help you try on various breast implant shapes and sizes, which allows you to see your new size in real life. Dr. Kirby will offer guidance on what size and style of implant will be best for your body type and goals. Learn more about what to expect during a breast augmentation consultation.
Feel free to ask questions
We know this will be a lot of information to take in, but you should not feel like you need to understand all of the details of your procedure during this consultation; you will have ample time to ask questions and seek clarification during your plastic surgery journey. That said, if you are unsure of anything during your consultation, we encourage you to ask your surgery team and Patient Care Coordinator any questions you may have. You should always feel like you can ask questions!
“Thank you for listening to me and taking time to explain every detail to me and my family. Thank you so much. ”

Go over your procedure costs
After all of your surgery and recovery questions are answered, your Patient Care Coordinator will discuss the financial policies and the total cost of your procedure. This will include surgeon’s fees, anesthesia, facility fees, including device prices (such as breast or facial implants). We offer a number of financing options to help make paying for your surgery convenient and affordable, including PatientFi, CareCredit, and Alphaeon. For patients interested in cosmetic insurance, we offer optional Aesthetisure coverage for your procedure.
Schedule your surgery
Once you have shared your medical history, met with your surgery team, discussed your surgery and recovery details, and gone over your procedure costs, your Patient Care Coordinator will schedule your surgery at a date that is convenient for both you and Dr. Kirby. Though you are certainly not required to schedule your surgery during your consultation, it is a convenient time to compare your calendar with Dr. Kirby’s and choose from available dates.
After choosing your surgery date, we will secure it with a deposit (or with your preferred financing method) and schedule your pre-operative appointment. You will leave our office feeling excited, confident, and prepared for your procedure!
